Naissance
-------------------------------------------------------------
Well, this image is not in the same style as previous pictures. It also has a different subject.. Hopefully those of you who liked houses and landscapes will also appreciate people and events.
From technical point of view the drawing and choose of colors are more important here then the dynamical mix of water and pigment. This pictures do not require 'one breath inspiration' and can be made during many days.

Door in Palermo
Sicile, Italy
---------------------------------------------
Nothing about painting technique this time, but some observations about Palermo:
To enter inside (restaurant, tourist office, hotel...) in Palermo you have knock the door and wait it to be open. By definition the door is closed with no sight of live inside.
Garden in Palermo

It could be pretty warm and nice in Palermo even in January. The Sun is almost hot (when it is out).

Aix-en-Provence
St-Cannat
16km nord-west from Aix-en-Provence
PACA
-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------
St-Cannat, St-Jean-de-Malte pictures and the picture Bandol from the previous post are done with different technique than usual. It is watercolor pencils. They are really colorful and bright. And they dilute easily in water. That gives aquarelle effect used in Bandol picture, for example. St-Cannat, St-Jean-de-Malte are dry pictures, no water.
The new for me feature of working with pencils is very limited palette. The number of pencils is 12. Colors does not mix nicely as in aquarelle. For example the green obtained from yellow and blue is looks dirty and not really green.
The interesting think about pencils is that learn to ignore real colors to the extend that I did not dare to do using watercolors. Been limited by palette, but still desiring to express the sound of the subject I add unexpected colors to where they are not present. Like the tree in St-Jean-de-Malte picture is red, while in reality it was grey. But because I did not have appropriate grey, I make it red. The church also is like rainbow and so on...
